🗓️ Pisa, Florence, Tuscan countryside, Rome, Orvieto, Verona, Venice

Italy

My friend and I spent many a day in Italy during our summer trip to Europe in 2009. It’s one of the countries I’ve traveled most extensively (others include the US, Iceland, Malta and Kenya). And it didn’t take long to see why it’s such a popular destination. It really does have everything — diverse landscapes, rich history, culture, art, fashion, friendly locals and delicious food. We submerged ourselves into it all and I have the best memories as a result.

I especially loved Florence, the Tuscan countryside, Orvieto, Verona and Venice. I realize that’s like the majority of places we went 🙈 But, what can I say? Italy kinda is that girl.

I would love to go back… see the Amalfi Coast. Maybe Cinque Terre, Sardinia, Puglia, Sicily. Half of my son’s bloodline is Italian so it could be fun to go to the source of his roots in Abruzzo, too, yes? It’s hard to be popular and at the top, but I guess somebody’s gotta do it. Viva Italia.

Oh! The blue dress in the pics below is from my trip, too, and I still wear to this day. My favorite kind of souvenir!
