Hi! I’m Lianne.

A 30-something from the US, working mom and one of those people who’s always loved to travel.

If you’ve been to my home page then you may have seen that my friends and family call me Li. It’s a shortened form of LiLi which is what my brother used to call me as kids before he could say my full name lol. If not, then thanks for being here, it’s nice to meet you and now you know 😊

Exploring has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, and my parents often tell stories of how, growing up, I dreamt of Paris, planned a life in Japan and swore I’d set foot in every country in the world.

Somewhere along the way, I tucked those dreams and plans away for a more traditional life. And for a while, it worked. But a few years ago that life came crashing down and once I made it through the storm, I looked around and asked myself: How did I get so far from what I’d always wanted?

That question led me back to the girl I used to be. This site is my love letter to her. And, I hope, helps to mark my return to the life and self I’ve always carried inside of me and am (finally) ready to claim.

  • ✨ I’m an eldest daughter and granddaughter

    ✨ I love animals and currently have a dog + a cat

    ✨ My favorite color is blue, flavor is lemon and food is Mexican & Italian

    ✨ My favorite season is fall

    ✨ I love emojis and tend to use them any chance I get

    ✨ I consider animal prints neutrals

    ✨ It’s hard for me to go a day without drinking coffee & Diet Coke

    ✨ If I could instantly master one skill it would be speaking French

    ✨ If I could have a superpower it would be to teleport

    ✨ I love flags and try to snap pics of them wherever I go

  • I love to explore and visit new places. I also love to be home. So, quick trips like a long weekend are my favorite because I feel like they give me the best of both worlds. They’re also the easiest to do with my work schedule and responsibilities as a mom.

    I don’t usually seek out places to go. I live my life and follow my joy, see what comes up. Meaning I let the ideas and plans, inspiration come to me. I know it sounds crazy to some, but I’m woo woo like that. It doesn’t always make sense, but I’ve never been led astray by listening to myself so I’ve learned to trust that process.

    My favorite places to go are cities. I can appreciate being out in nature — a weekend in the mountains, defrosting on a beach, hiking in the desert, etc but at the end of the day I’m a city girl at my core. So I choose a lot of urban destinations.

    I enjoy getting off the beaten path. I read once that something like 90% of travelers visit less than 10% of the world? That’s definitely not me. Granted, I know I’m lucky and privileged to be able to say that. And I can enjoy and appreciate a hot spot as much as anyone else. I also love the places I love and am not against a revisit. But, I like the challenge and nuance of going somewhere different too.

    I like to be busy. Sitting around lounging is nice when I’m depleted and need to recoup, but it’s not my natural cadence and generally not how I travel. So when I’m away, I’m usually on the move.

  • I would love to travel to every continent and country in the world. If I could get to every territory too that would be even better.

    One day I would love to try traveling for an entire year.

    I dream of summers in the Mediterranean.

    I think my inner child would give anything to live in New York or France, even for just a time.

    It would be pretty cool to visit every last inch of Europe.

    I also feel like I’ll end up putting down roots in more than one place; split my time between them. Where will that be? Only time will tell.

    All pie in the sky thoughts I know, but what can I say… I’m a Pisces. If there’s one thing I’m gonna do, it’s dream 😉
