I found myself in Türkiye (Turkey) after learning there was a direct flight from my home city to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines. After stepping off the plane, I quickly realized that Istanbul is not the kind of city you learn or master, it’s the kind of city you surrender to. And I spent the next 5 days surrendering, in awe of all the centuries of life there before me.
