Bermuda

Bermuda is such an interesting place. Not only is it on the verge of being in the middle of nowhere 🙊, it’s also kinda British but not, kinda Caribbean but not. It’s like it’s own amazing little microcosm. I think that’s why I enjoyed it so much. Just when I felt like I had it figured out, another layer or flavor would get uncovered that would mix things up making it all the more interesting. Like someone playing along then yelling sike!

It’s also one of the trips I took while pregnant. I was ~5 months along and my belly had just popped. My OB gave me the green light because the risk for Zika virus was so low. Zika was such a thing at that time omg. Rightfully so or not? I don’t know. But, I followed the rules because that’s who I am. I remember feeling so uncomfortable and trying my best to embrace my changing body + all that lay ahead.

It’s wild to think about how different my life is now; how much life I’ve lived since then. I’m proud of the storms I’ve weathered, the woman I’ve become — or maybe more accurately, the woman I’ve returned to being. I likely could never be the me I am now though without my life turning all the way upside down like it did a few years ago + the (aggressive lol) shakes since then. But honestly… for that, I’m so very grateful.
